JACKSON'S BIRTHDAY

My little boy is growing up. Jackson turned 9 on July 9th. He was in is favorite place for his birthday-Lake Powell! Unfortunatly I was not there with him. That did not hinder the celebrations though. Grandma Bytheway made sure he had a party. She made cupcakes, decorated the awning with balloons, and even had a Transformer pinata. Jackson had a blast at Lake Powell!

The day after they got home from Lake Powell we did presents. He was so excited to get his art kit and art paper. He has used it lots and he even shares it with his brothers and sister. Jackson is a good boy and we love having him in our family. Unfortunatly being the oldest, he gets asked to do alot and I am super grateful that he is willing to help out so much. He will start 4th grade in a couple of weeks and he is very excited. Happy Birthday Jackson! We love you!

THERE'S A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING!

1st first of the week-After nine years of raising kids, Lucas decided to be the first one to pull off his poopy diaper in his crib. Luckily he did not smear it all over the walls and crib but just kept it on the sheet and blanket. And himself of course. He didn't mind at all cause that meant he got a bath in the middle of the day! Lesson to learn-don't put a baby down for a nap without shorts on!

2nd first of the week-About a month ago we finished the basement and we absolutely love it. Unfortunatly after a month the boys decided to really break it in. They decided to turn a plastic shelf upside on the carpet and use Rachel's play dishes to fill it up with water from the bathroom. I'm pretty sure the majority of the water ended up on the carpet and not in their little shelf. They soaked about seven towels while cleaning it up and it is still damp. Three days later. This isn't the first time they have made a mess with water since we finished the bathroom but usually it stays in the bathroom. After this I locked up the bathroom. So glad we spent the money to finish the bathroom!

3rd first of the week- After I put the boys to bed that same night (Monday I think) and went upstairs when I thought they were asleep. Dave and I watched an episode of WipeOut on Hulu. When that was over we heard some noise coming from the basement so Dave went to check it out. It was not good news. When Dave got home from work earlier he had put the space heater and the work lamp on the wet carpet to help dry it out. Well the boys thought they would use the lamp to melt some crayons which they found downstairs. After the crayons melted where else should it go except to drip down onto the carpet. So now we have a nice big red circle on the carpet that we have only had for a month. 3 naughty boys = 2 angry parents. As punishment, yesterday and today and every day until they are done, they get to pull weeds from the flower beds all around the house. If you have seen our flower beds, we don't actually have any flowers planted, it is all just overgrown with weeds. There is alot! Along with this they each had to do some writing. They each had something different to write and they each wrote for over an hour. Oh how I love these boys!!

I decided I wanted to compile a list of all of the creative things these boys (and Rachel but mostly the boys) have done that have gotten them in trouble. I'm sure I cannot remember everything so if you can think of anything I may have told you, leave me a comment. In a few days I will put the list in a post for all of your amusement!

Zackery's Program

Looks just like him doesn't it!
These are the art projects they have been working on at school. Zack had his final kindergarten program. We never know what we are going to get from him so it is very entertaining to watch. He told me that it was so embarrassing to have to dance with a boy. Of course he told me that he didn't want to dance with a girl either.

They are singing Zack's new favorite song. Down By The Bay. Now every time we drive past or go to Willard Bay, him and the other boys and Rachel sing this song as loud as they can. It's really funny to listen to.

Doesn't he look so excited? I'm not sure why he is holding up his fingers because nobody else is.

My little guy just cannot wait to be in first grade. He did so good on his post kindergarten testing so I think he is definitely ready to move on.

WASHINGTON, UTAH TRIP #2 DAY 3

Jackson, Zackery, and Preston love to climb on my parents climbing wall in their back yard so when Barbara and Randy said they were planning a rock climbing trip while we were all in St. George the boys were so excited. They quickly found out that real rock climbing is quite a bit different than climbing on Grandpa's climbing wall. Zack and Lucas chillin. Waiting for the climbing to begin.
Rachel and Kylie. I am so glad that these two are the same age. They have so much fun playing together. We just wish they lived closer.

All of the big boys. Preston, Rayden, Zackery, Jackson, Braxton, and Rylan.

Jackson was hanging on for dear life. He wasn't ready to trust the ropes yet.

Dave trying to show Jackson how it's done.

One of my favorite shots! This is some serious rock climbing!

Dave and Jackson. The goal was to go all the way to the top and touch the hook all the way up there. Unfortunately, Jackson couldn't make it pass the overhang. But he still did a good job.
Dave did make it to the top.
The only problem was he didn't know how to get back down. He just stood up their for at least five minutes and didn't move. Johny finally went up and helped get down.

Zackery's turn.

He made it all the way to the top. He thought he was so cool.

Here's Preston getting harnesed up. The harness barely went small enough for him.

Making his way up. This is about as far as he went. He did a good job.

Lunchtime!
After lunch, some of us went back to the Neve's house and some stayed to keep on climbing. Of course all of my boys (minus Lucas) wanted to stay so Dave stayed with the group and they all did some more climbing. I think the boys had a lot of fun.
While we were on vacation we also did some swimming in the Neve's pool and hot tub, went for ice cream and of course, video games and movies for the kids. A wonderful vacation!

WASHINGTON, UTAH - TRIP #2 DAY 2

The 2nd day of our vacation was Sunday, so we went to church with the Neve's and then came home and had a bar-b-que. After that we celebrated Dave's birthday with a moch Lemon Merange (?) cake that Barbara made. It was so yummy. We have been to St. George a bunch of times but have never been to see the temple. So after we had cake, that is where we headed. The St. George Temple is so beautiful and so white.
Lucas enjoyed just being able to walk around. He loved touching the flowers and picking up all of the pebbles everywhere.

What a cute family. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful children and a wonderful husband who I get to be with for all eternity.

All of the kids at the top of the steps.

Here's the birthday boy. A whopping 32 years old.

WASHINGTON, UTAH - TRIP #2 DAY 1

Sarah and Johny planned a day for us to go hiking in Zions. It took a while to actually get where we needed to be but once we were there I think the kids had a good time. These pictures are all mixed up but oh well. Zack went in the water at the top of the hike so on the way back down he went barefooted. This was fine until he stubbed his toe and none of us had a bandaid. Luckily a passerby helped us out.
All of the kids and dads at the top of the hike.

Aaawww. I guess the hike wasn't that bad!

Rachel had alot of fun. Kylie not so much.

Rachel loved carrying this little backpack. When she was hungry she would just sit down on the side of the trail, pull off the pack, and get herself a snack. She wouldn't let anyone else carry it for her.

After crying the entire shuttle ride to the trail head and the entire hike up, Lucas finally crashed on the hike back down.

These little squirrels were everywhere and they could smell food from a mile away. I thought they were cute but the little girls got scared by them.

Of course they couldn't just stay on the trail but had to climb all over the rocks.

Love this little guy and his bright blue eyes!

Lucas didn't like the kid carrier so Rachel decided to get in.

This was just kind of how the day went for this little guy. It sure is rough when your only 1.

Everybody waiting for the shuttle to take us up to the trail head.
We didn't plan super well and left the lunches in the car so when the kids were all tired and hungry after one hike we had to go back and eat lunch. And then everyone just wanted to go home. It was very pretty though and I hope we have a chance to do it again. Just with a little better planning.

PREGNANCY PICS

So I have had some requests for some pregnancy pictures so here they are.
18 weeks

21 weeks

22 weeks
This was taken yesterday which was actually 22 weeks and 1 day. So today I am 22 weeks and two days. Or so the due date says. Four more months to go!

WASHINGTON, UTAH - TRIP #1 PART 2

While we were visiting the Neve's, Sarah took us to an awesome park in St. George. It's not your traditional park with monkey bars and slides. It has all sorts of fun things for the kids. The kids liked it so much we went back the next day before heading back home to Syracuse.
Lucas was Mr. Grumpy Pants and didn't want to do anything but be held by mom and dad.

This little contraption would spin around and the boys would spin it so fast that they almost fell off.

Best Buddies!
The climbing wall was a favorite for Jackson, Zackery and Preston.

I am surprised we didn't lose Zack on this as he was spinning.

Dave actually fell off of this once and almost dropped Lucas. Surprisingly nobody got hurt.

Preston always has to do what the other boys do.
Almost there!
A good time was had by all! Until the next trip!
