RED TIGERS AND GREEN GOBLINS

We decided to sign the three older boys up for soccer this spring. They had alot of fun playing but it sure was alot of work getting everyone to and from games and practices four nights of the week. It was usually so cold that I had to get a baby sitter for the other kids.

Here is few pictures of the little guys in action. Zack is somewhere in the middle of this jumble and as usual Preston is a few steps behind.

Jackson is the one in green closest to the ball. He was a little timid at first but towards the end of the season he really got into it and made some good plays. At least when he wasn't doing somersaults or picking the grass.

Not sure where the ball is but at least he is running after something.

Preston is in the maroon and ready for a kick. He was the smallest and probably the youngest on the team but he put up a good fight when he wanted to.

With Preston and Zackery on the same team it was quite enternaining when they were both defenders. They thought it was fun to kick each other in the shins because they had shinguards on and so it didn't hurt. They also got tangled up in the goaley net multiple times as they tried to walk circles around the post.
It was alot of fun to watch them play and to see how they improved over the season. Especially Jackson. I don't know how much we will have the boys involved in sports because it takes alot of time when you have three of them in. Now I know why my parents didn't have us in every sport and everything else growing up. We will see what next year brings.

IT'S A .........

We finally had our ultra sound and found out that we are having a ... GIRL!!

We are very excited, especially Rachel. She was hoping for a little sister. Everything else looked good. So far we have a healthy baby. She was measuring a little small but that's just kind of how my babies grow.

That's all for now. We actually have been busy with lots of things lately but I haven't had a lot of motivation to post about anything. Maybe someday.

KID FUNNIES

The other day I had to run a bunch of errands with 4 of my 5 kids and at the last stop I said that if they were good I would buy donuts. I bought the donuts even though Preston was not good. I figured I would just make him wait a little while to have his. When we got home this is how our conversation went:

Preston: I want my donut.

Me: You have to wait a little while before you get your donut because you did not behave at the store.

Preston: I did to been haved (said with a long A sound).

Me: (put Rachel down for a nap and then came back out.)

Preston: I'm always haved (again said with a long A sound).

Always good for a laugh!!

ANNOUNCEMENT!!

We haven't really made a big announcement or anything but the word has slowly gotten around. So for anyone that doesn't already know, we are expecting another child!!

Surprise!!

Actually it's probably not a surprise for most people. Everyone (especially family) knows that we like to have our kids close rather than far apart and also that we were always planning on another one after Lucas. Yes, we do know how this happens and yes this was planned. We are very excited! At least I am. Dave says that he forgets I'm even pregnant most days.

So as of tomorrow, I will be 16 weeks along which puts my due date on October 16th. Meaning I get to do this all summer long. I was a bit sick and super tired between weeks 6 and 13 but I feel great now. Still a little tired but not too bad. I don't find out if it is a boy or a girl until about 20 weeks so a few more to go. Lucas and the little baby will be 19 months apart. Assuming this baby doesn't come early. I know everyone likes to see belly shots but I don't have any yet. I assure you their is a belly though.

Anyway, all is well. And hopefully it stays that way!

LABELING

Last night Dave put the boys to bed and when I heard them still playing after an hour and went to go check on them and get them back in bed. When I got down to their room they were playing in their closet which brought my attention to the wall right outside of the closet which had been labeled with a Z P and a backwards J with a sharpie marker that had been found. I got the marker from them and put them back in bed. I think they still played a bit longer but any way, on to this morning. I went downstairs to gather up all of the laundry to wash which was scattered all over the room and the closet. As I started looking around while picking up laundry I noticed a few more letters. Zackery, as the scribe, had labeled where each of their belongings went. A backwards J (I guess we need to work on this letter) on each of Jackson's three shelfs, another backwards J on the wall where his shirts hang, a P on the two shelfs that Preston uses, a P where Preston hangs his shirts, a P and a Z on the shelf where the pull ups are kept for the two of them, a P on one of the dresser drawers, a Z on the other three drawers for Zack, a Z where Zack hangs his clothes, a P on Preston's bed, and last but not least a Z on Zack's bed. I'm not really sure what the reasoning was for all of this but for now it's kind of cute. Even if it doesn't wash off. And now even Dave knows what belongs to which boy!
Now, this all happened after they pulled all of the clothes off of the shelves and hangers including the clothes on the top shelf of the closet which I had only last week so nicely seperated (too small for one but too big for another, winter from summer), folded and stored up their until needed at some future date.
Most days it's not a problem having all three boys share a room, but some days I wouldn't mind sending them somewhere else for a few days. As long as I get them back because they are pretty cute and my life would probably be really boring if they were gone for too long

KID FUNNIES

I was babysitting my niece the other day and she had on a shirt that said 50% mommy, 50% daddy. So Zack was asking me about that. I tried to explain that when baby's are born they get things from their mom and their dad. So he pointed to one side of her face and said "So this side of her face is from her mom, and the other side of her face is from her dad?" I decided to just agree with him and leave it at that. He is only 6. I don't think I need to explain too much just yet.

Also on the same day, Preston grabbed the top of his ear and the bottom of his ear and squished them together. He said "mom their's something hard in here. I can feel my brain."

When they're not fighting and driving me crazy, my kids are actually quite amusing.

On another note, Jackson finally lost another tooth. This brings the total to 5. This is a pretty big deal considering he only looses two teeth a year. But he does have three other loose ones so this might be a big money making year for him.

LUCAS IS ONE!!!

My little Lukey bug turned one last week!! And to celebrate he came home from the doctors with two ear infections. So we are back on antibiotics. Again. Besides that, Lucas is doing great. He ended his first year of life-
with 3 teeth,
finally holds his own bottle,
thinks he is so cool when he stands by himself but has no desire to walk,
eats and sleeps fabulously,
loves to smile,
is very tickelish,
and loves his family!!!
I could just hold him and kiss him all day long. He is a whopping 19 lbs (this is actually the biggest of any of my kids at 1 year) and 28 and 3/4ths inches. Still a little guy but we love, love, love having him in our family.

I don't have pictures downloaded yet but when I do I will post the birthday pictures.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZACK!!

Zack was so excited for his birthday. We had a bunch of family over for cake and ice cream and Zack got to play with lots of his cousins. He didn't like the spiderman socks because that's not what he asked for.
So the story behind this iguana is that his brothers and some of his cousins got one for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa but he got a dinosaur. He was so sad. He thought they were so much better than his dinosaur because they were stretchy and squishy. So my mom decided to get him one for his birthday. The funny thing was that she wrapped it in a tooth paste box. So Zack unwrapped it, figured it was toothpaste and just chucked it into the garbage pile. When he finally opened the box and pulled it out he was so excited.

I can't believe he is 6!
Hopefully he will grow just a little bit before summer so that he can really ride this.

We just love our little Zack Attack! He gets into a trouble at times and can throw a pretty good tantrum but he is also super duper sweet. I was sick the other day and before he went to bed he crawled up on my bed and said "I hope you feel better tomorrow mom." He is the one that always has nice things to say to me and he loves to give hugs. Zack is a good helper and loves to play with his brothers and sister. Love you buddy!!
